美国半导体厂商美光科技公司（Micron Technology Inc.）主席兼行政总裁阿普尔顿，在爱达荷州撞机死亡，得年51岁。

爱达荷州波伊西机场女发言人米勒表示，阿普尔顿当时驾驶一架单发动机的固定翼私人飞机。米勒说，阿普尔顿在机场两条跑道中间坠毁，是这场意外唯一的罹难者。

美光是亚洲地区以外硕果仅存的电脑记忆体芯片制造商，英特尔公司（Intel Corp. ）与德州仪器公司（Texas Instruments Inc. ）等劲敌都已放弃这块市场，将重点放到其他产品上。

阿普尔顿在洛杉矶出生，以驾驶特技飞机为嗜好，2004年他在另一宗失事意外中差点丧命。
